Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation also known as Physiatry or Rehabilitation Medicine aims to enhance and restore functional ability and quality of life to those with physical impairments or disabilities affecting brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves, muscles and tendons.
The goal of a Physiatrist is to maximize patients independence in activities of daily living and to improve quality of life. We have one advanced EMG Lab for the diagnosis of peripheral nerve injury and spinal cord involvement. Our rehabilitation protocol involves almost all systems.
We have started to distribute prosthesis free of cost through CMCHIS. Specialisation is there in obesity & pain management, cardiac, pulmonary, head injury, spinal cord injury, stroke, cerebral palsy, neurogenic bladder, vascular and burns rehabilitation.
